Have
you ever wondered how much your "catch-n-release"
trophy weighed? Well, here's where to get a pretty
good idea.
If
you provide the length, the calculator will give you
the girth and weight. If you took the time to measure
the girth as well, put that in for a more accurate
weight.
Try
it out. It's especially interesting if you happen to
Measure a Musky. Let
me know
if it's accurate for you.

The
fish weight estimation algorithm was originally posted to
the Flyfish
listserver
in July of 1994, and since has been presented in a
multitude of formats on various websites.
The
algorithm used is W=(L * (G^2))/R, where:
W
= Weight in decimal pounds
L = Length in inches
G = Girth in inches (default is .58 * L)
R = 800 for trout/bass, 900 for pike/musky
Write down your length & Girth when you catch a fish then
come here and plug in the numbers and get a good idea of what your fish
weighed
