Welcome to Green River Lake
In the hills of central Kentucky. an interpretive center at the damsite acquaints the visitor with the geology, culture, and history of the area. the Green River is the longest river flowing completely in the Commonwealth Of Kentucky. A historic log house is located at the visitor center, near the dam. Green River Lake is located approximately 40 miles east of the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site. The lake was completed by the corps of engineers in 1969.
Anglers visiting this park enjoy the 8,200-acre Green River Lake for the opportunity to catch muskie, bass, catfish and crappie. Hikers and mountain bikers share 25 miles of trails through the 1,331 forested acres. Those who explore the wooded areas have a good chance of seeing deer, rabbits and other wildlife. Other facilities include a 156-site campground, miniature golf course, playground and paved launching strip for model-airplanes.

Green River Lake Wildlife Management Area is located in Adair and Taylor Counties. This 20,500-acre tract is located along Green River Lake and is composed of both bottomland and upland forests as well as agricultural fields. The 8200-acre lake provides ample opportunity for water recreation as well as waterbird viewing. Camping and lodging is offered at the Green River Lake State Resort Park.
