Mike Mainhart was a new member to the Kentucky Outdoor Press Association last year and joined us at KOPA’s annual conference last October.
While he might be new to KOPA, he is not new to the craft of outdoor writing. Mainhart is also a member of Outdoor Writers of Ohio, and he has been published by many publications. He is also a very good photographer and I personally got to compare notes with him this pass October.
Mainhart submitted some of his photographs to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife this past year for consideration in some of their publications. His photographs was selected to grace the front cover page of the new March 2012- February 2013 Fishing and Boating guide. I thought I would share that with you.
When I found out that Mike’s picture was selected for the cover it goes without saying that I wanted to send out my congratulations to him.I understand that it was selected out of about 100 photographs.
When I spoke to him on the phone today, and it was obvious that he was excited and grateful that the DFWL chose his photo. Mainhart is a good guy in more ways than just his words and photos. Way to go Mike!
