Members of this group have been writing stories and spreading the word about what the Morehead area has to offer outdoor enthusiast in magazines, newspapers, radio and TV across three states for the last decade. Media credits include: Cabela’s Outdoor Journal, Houseboat Magazine, Kentucky Angling News Magazine, Ourdoorscribe.com, The Independent, Greater Ashland Beacon, The Greenup Beacon, and on Kentucky News Network Radio and WSAZ News Channel 3. The time has now come for KOPA to move on and expose some of the other great places this state has to offer to the public.

As a writers group that tries to help writers develop markets, the group wanted to give Tom Clay an award for his continuing hard work to do just that. At the same time, members found out as the conference started, that the Jenny Wiley Trail Conference also gave Tom Clay an award for his work developing a market and partnering with the Greenup County Health Department to develop a video series where outdoor activities promote a healthy lifestyle while enjoying nature.

You can watch this series by logging into the Greenup County Health Dept. website at http://www.greenuphealth.com/ and click on the link titled “County Wise Wellness.” There you can see the entire series on demand.

  1. Hello. I am a Sales Mgr with Kentucky State Parks and have attended (and bid) the SEOPA conference this year and last.
The 2017 conference was awarded to us, Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park.
The organization is interested in partnering with your group for this event (if you’re interested).
From reading your conference information above, it appears you may be ready for a change.
Please feel free to visit their website for contact information. You would all really enjoy the SEOPA people. They are wonderful folks.
Let me know if I can assist in any way.
